Beat Frei, born 1971 in Winterthur, received a MSc in Electrical Engineering and a Teachers Diploma from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. After having worked as an RF Engineer in the industry, he founded his own business dedicated to the development of algorithms and commercial hardware for sound synthesis. Concurrently, he was an electronics and systems theory teacher at Zurich University of Applied Sciences Winterthur. At the ICST he conducts research and transfer projects on electronic sound generation and signal processing. Furthermore, he develops software and hardware within this context.
