Stefano Papetti received a Laurea degree (MSc) in Computer Engineering from the University of Padova, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Verona, where he has worked as research assistant on the EU-funded projects CLOSED and NIW.

His research interests include sound synthesis, physical models of acoustic phenomena, ecological (i.e. non-speech, non-musical) sounds, sonic interaction design, and multimodal (especially audio-haptic) interaction.

He has collaborated with theater and dance groups as composer and sound designer.

As a music producer he likes to combine experimentation with melody, and as a keyboard player and computer musician he's particularly interested in collective improvisation.
